This week’s focus: As we approach the end of 2012 it’s a time both for looking back and looking forward. The UK’s biggest event of 2012 was the Olympics, but British sport is not sitting on its hands. Earlier this week, UK Sport, the governing body, announced major shifts in funding to the different sports ahead of the Olympics in Rio, 2016.

Funding decisions have been based on past performance and likely future success, so while, for example, the funding of boxing and rowing will increase by 40% and 20% respectively, badminton’s funding has reduced by 20% to £6 million, and basketball has lost its funding completely.

As with the Olympics, the success of your business is largely based on where you focus your resources and your efforts. So, as you develop your plans for 2013, how are you reallocating resources away from low-potential areas and into your major opportunities and priorities?

Got on a lucky one, came in eighteen to one

I got a feeling, this year’s for me and you

So Happy Christmas, I love you baby

I can see a better time, when all our dreams come true
