The first is to say that growth is weak, consumer confidence is low and it may get worse. The second is to say that the UK has the sixth largest world economy and will generate nearly $2 trillion this year.
Both are correct.
If you focus on the first you are likely to cut back, retreat and wait for the situation to get better.
If you focus on the second, however, you’re more likely to get out there, be proactive and make things happen.
